Tuesday Workout

Tuesday was a first for me normally I attend the late afternoon classes but do to scheduling conflicts I went to the noon class. I recognized some faces but not all and Jenn was the inflictor of pain for today. I should also note that I have only been using one “n” in my previous posts when speaking of Jenn, I’m sure she’ll come up with a special “Instructor’s Delight” for that oversight. When I first started at Joust the last part of the workout was simply called Instructor’s Choice, I have noticed over the course of the last few months that innocuous “Instructors’ Choice” has morphed into “Instructor’s Delight”, “Instructors Pleasure”, “Instructors Pain Maker” etc., I guess the Ladies of Joust are embracing their dark, sadistic nature.

After the warm-up the main workout was focused on kettle bells and this was my first chance to do a kettle bell workout with my new weight (20 kgs/44 lbs). So far I have been able to do a warm-up set of swings or something similar with the new weight, but never a full workout. My goal was to finish all exercises and repetitions and not go down to a lesser weight. Slowly but surely I made it and my classmates were thankful because it afforded them more rest before the Instructor’s Delight.

A couple of observations, the following day my arms and shoulders are the sorest they have been since I started and I feel this workout was evidence that I’m doing a nice job of building the foundation for my physical fitness. When I first started I was using 20 or 25 lb. kettle bells for my workouts, progress not perfection.
