Keeping Yourself in Great Shape
It is not easy to juggle a busy schedule and a regular fitness or work out routine. People tend to pour out all their time and energy with career, family and other things. Fitness is sometimes forgotten or taken for granted. However, there are many things that you can do to keep fit and maintain a great shape. You do not have to sign up in a health club or get a fitness instructor. All you have to do is to walk, jog and climb the stairs and stretch. It is not difficult to squeeze these activities in your hectic schedule. Here are some suggestions to keep you fit despite having a limited time:
1. Climb at least 3-5 flights of stairs everyday
2. 15-20 minutes of brisk walking every morning or after your work
3. Stretching of major muscles to avoid tightness and to release the tension
4. Light aerobic exercises done for about 15-20 minutes
5. Resistance training using dumb bells or resistance tubes
6. Cycling
7. Dancing to music
8. Quick morning jog for about 15-20 minutes
Consider squeezing these brief and basic fitness activities to your daily schedule and expect your body to be in great shape. Moreover, it is a good way to condition your body so you can perform well at work. If you can manage to perform 2 or 3 of these activities during the course of the day, you are doing a good job working on your fitness. Take this as an example; you can spend 15-20 minutes jogging in the morning before leaving to work. In the office, do not ride the elevator but use the stairs instead. In the afternoon when you feel your energy going down, take some time to stretch. You can modify these activities and squeeze them in your day whenever you can. Once you get into the habit, you will feel more active and energized.
Fitness goes hand-in-hand with a good diet and healthy lifestyle. It is important that you also pay attention to your choices of food. If you do not have the luxury of time for intense work outs and rigorous exercises, yet you want to keep fit, eat healthy meals and stay away from foods that are high in saturated fat to keep your body from gaining excess pounds. Avoid junk foods and other foods that are high in calories but low in nutritional content. Drink plenty of water and fresh fruit juices instead soda and alcoholic beverages. Add whole grain cereals and lots of fresh vegetables in your diet. And lastly, do not starve yourself.
Remember that your body is perfectly designed to move and to stay active. Thus it is a must for every person to win the fitness battle in order to get more out of life. Avoid making excuses because it is only your own body and your health that will benefit from a good fitness regimen.
Challenge yourself to stay fit through exercise and diet. You can never be too busy to care for your body.
